Straight answers

Is the free tier a trial?
No. It has no expiry date and no card. You get 1 apiary and up to 10 hives for as long as you want them, with the full inspection, treatment and harvest record for each one.
What happens when I add hive 11?
Hive Complete stops you and offers the upgrade. Nothing you already logged is touched, and the hives you have stay fully editable. Worth knowing: hives you marked dead, sold or archived still take up a slot, so clearing those out frees space too.
What does the paid tier actually add?
Unlimited apiaries and hives, an equipment inventory with quantities and low-stock alerts, and hive transfers: handing a hive to another beekeeper in the app, accepting one sent to you, or marking a hive as sold.
Does it work without cell signal?
The phone app does, and that is the point. Records are written to the device first, then uploaded when you reconnect, when you reopen the app, or on a timer while it is open and online.
Who can see my hive data?
You. Hive records are private to your account and are not published or shared with anyone.
How is it billed?
Through Stripe, monthly or yearly. Open the billing portal from your settings at any time to change plan, update your card or download invoices.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from the billing portal in your settings. You drop back to the free tier and keep read and write access to everything already in your account.
